MySchoolYearLine_zpsgqhhutlcIt’s easy to make lesson plans for the upcoming year with My School Year (Homeschool Record Keeping) from I was recently given an annual membership to try as part of the Review Crew and I have to say, I like the program.

My School Year (Homeschool Record Keeping) is an online record keeping program that allows you to set up your year and keep all the records you could possibly need. It’s very intuitive and easy to use. I had no trouble figuring out how to set up my school, terms, or how to put in lesson plans.

The program offers you the choice of terms. If you start in January, set your school year up that way. Start in July? Then set your first day to start in July. It’s very versatile which is something that I really like and haven’t seen in other online planners.

The first thing that I did was set up a school for our home school. When you set up a school, you can feel in everything from the name to the website and contact info. Or not, it’s up to you. I set up a school for us and when Boobear’s art classes start back, then I’ll set up a school for those. Just to help keep everything straight.

Here in Georgia, we have to use a full 12 months for our home school year. Our 2016-2017 school year will run from July 6, 2016 to July 5, 2017. We typically school six days a week, though that will probably change to just five (maybe even four a week) due to my work schedule. We’ll have to see.

Setting up the term was easy and the program makes it easy to see how many days are in the year, how many you’ve scheduled as holidays, and how many days you have in the term and actual school days. It’s very clear, as you can see:

One thing that we all need are reports. We need to be able to see our progress, our attendance, and whatever else is required by our states. My School Year (Homeschool Record Keeping) delivers!

Need to see awards or course descriptions? Want to check out your reading log? It’s all there for you. Pop into your student’s homeroom to see their attendance, reading and more right there for you to see at a glance.

Set up subjects with a few clicks. Keep track of materials for classes and even set up your grading scale, including a pass/fail scale for classes or ages you simply don’t want to give grades in.

Lessons are fast and easy to set up. Again, the word is easy. Open up your Planbook and you can see everything for the week at a glance. The student name is listed right by the lesson, so it’s simple to see what lesson is for which student if you have more than one child that you’re teaching.

I really like the program. I find it easy to use and rather fun in the way it’s designed. I highly recommend it to any home schooler who’s looking for an online program that won’t take forever to set up and is affordable.
